How do Residential pumps work?

  • Residential pumps create suction to draw water from a source like a well or municipal supply. This water enters the pump through an inlet pipe and encounters an impeller, a rotating component that imparts kinetic energy to the water, increasing its velocity.

  • As the impeller spins, it propels the water through the pump’s casing, gradually narrowing the passage and raising the water’s pressure. The pressurised water is then forced out through a discharge pipe to various fixtures and appliances in the home. Some residential pumps may feature pressure sensors or control systems to regulate water pressure automatically, ensuring consistent flow rates throughout the household plumbing system.
